I’ve blogged a lot on embracing colours lately, whilst I am passionate about us updating ourselves with a zap of colour, when asked to create a simple elegant outfit today, I came up with a classic neutral and black palette, made exciting with subtle hints of ribbon, lace and feather all of which are totally in keeping with the embellishment trend.

What do you think?

If funds are limited and maybe you are saving your money to buy fabulous Christmas presents for your loved ones, then updating your Winter wardrobe can seem a bit of a challenge.

However, there were so many trends on the catwalk which mean that a very small change to your existing wardrobe could make a huge diffference to the effect. Take a look at our blog about feathers, adding colour or even adding skulls and studs. One huge trend seen on the catwalks by designers such as Fendi, Victoria Beckham, Edrem and Alexander McQueen was cinching in the waist with a gorgeous belt.

Halloween seems to be getting bigger and bigger here in the UK and we are closely following the American’s for it being one of our favourite holidays of the year.

As well as carving pumpkins, stocking up on sweets and even decorating our homes, it seems we are becoming more and more adventurous with Halloween outfits and make up.

There are some incredibly creative people out there, just take a look at these outfits I found on the web:

Skulls and studs seems to be one trend which is not going away. Whilst designers have introduced feathers and fur to their collections, all across the high street, you will still see a Sid Vicious homage and I love it!

Whether you go all out punk rocker or just add a touch of it to a girlie outfit, this look creates an impact and looks fantastic. Continue reading →

Alexander McQueen AW'12 Aubergine Suede Baroque Punk Skull Peeptoe

Alexander McQueen AW’12 Aubergine Suede Baroque Punk Skull Peeptoe, £635.00

I much prefer Autumn/Winter trends to those of Spring/Summer. As lovely as the bright colours of SS are, I almost always end up spending the summer in shorts and vests because the heat (not that we’ve felt much of it this year) demands comfort and bare skin. One of the AW trends I’m completely obsessing over is a gothic glam look as seen on the catwalks of Versace and Roberto Cavalli. If you ever bought a pair of Alexander McQueen Skull Embellished Pumps it’s definitely time to bring them out of storage. Continue reading →

If, like me, you have spent the last month hearing ‘I’m bored’ and ‘Mum, can you …’ then you will be well aware that in a few weeks our little darlings will be back to school.

This year is huge for my daughter (and me!) as she starts Comprehensive school for the first time, now without getting too emotional and sentimental, I can’t quite believe that my little baby is growing up so fast.

Apart from the obvious emotional sentiment attached to my ‘baby’ going to ‘big school’, I have also become suddenly aware that it is apparently no longer cool to buy her a pair of school shoes from the place I have always taken her. Apparently at 11 and a half, you no longer want your foot measured in a ‘cool’ machine, nor do you want flashing lights on your shoes – go figure! Continue reading →

We are loving the Gardenia shoes from Macoo at the moment. They have been reduced from £49.99 to £14.99 and are set to become one of my favourite pairs of shoes to wear with everything.

Although a high heel the hidden platform makes the shoe surprisingly easy to walk around in which means they an even be worn at the office and they wont be impractical. Continue reading →
